Dynamic railway timetable rescheduling for multiple connected disruptions

چکیده
Unexpected disruptions occur in the railways on a daily basis, which are typically handled manually by experienced traffic controllers with support of predefined contingency plans. When several simultaneously, it is rather hard for to make rescheduling decisions, because (1) plans corresponding these may conflict each other and (2) no plan considering combined effects multiple available. This paper proposes Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) model reschedule timetable case that at different geographic locations but have overlapping periods pairwise connected least one train line. The dispatching measures retiming, reordering, cancelling, adding stops flexible short-turning formulated MILP also considers rolling stock circulations terminal stations platform capacity. We develop two approaches dynamic environment: sequential approach approach. In approach, single-disruption applied handle new disruption last solution as reference. multiple-disruption every time an extra occurs all ongoing disruptions. The multi-objective railway timetable rescheduling problem
Unexpected disruptions occur for many reasons in railway networks and cause delays, cancellations, and, eventually, passenger inconvenience. This research focuses on the railway timetable rescheduling problem from a macroscopic point of view in case of large disruptions. The originality of our approach is to integrate three objectives to generate a disposition timetable: the passenger satisfact...
متن کاملA Fuzzy Optimization Model for High-Speed Railway Timetable Rescheduling
A fuzzy optimization model based on improved symmetric tolerance approach is introduced, which allows for rescheduling high-speed railway timetable under unexpected interferences. The model nests different parameters of the soft constraints with uncertainty margin to describe their importance to the optimization purpose and treats the objective in the same manner. Thus a new optimal instrument ...
متن کاملColumn Generation with Dynamic Duty Selection for Railway Crew Rescheduling
The Dutch railway network experiences about three large disruptions per day on average. In this paper, we present an algorithm to reschedule the crews when such a disruption occurs. The algorithm is based on column generation techniques combined with Lagrangian heuristics. Since the number of duties is very large in practical instances, we first define a core problem of tractable size. If some ...
متن کاملA Branch-and-Price Framework for Railway Rolling Stock Rescheduling During Disruptions
Rescheduling rolling stock during a disruption is a passenger railway optimization problem. In current practice this is typically optimized manually despite the high complexity and high runtime requirements of the task. In this paper we propose a path-based mathematical formulation that is solved using column generation in a complete Branch-and-Price framework. In contrast to flow-based approac...
متن کاملAnt colony optimization with immigrants schemes for the dynamic railway junction rescheduling problem with multiple delays
Train rescheduling after a perturbation is a challenging task and is an important concern of the railway industry as delayed trains can lead to large fines, disgruntled customers and loss of revenue. Sometimes not just one delay but several unrelated delays can occur in a short space of time which makes the problem even more challenging. In addition, the problem is a dynamic one that changes ov...
